About

Alex Bacsa is the founding editor of CloudFintech, an independent publication covering financial technology for people working at the intersection of banking, software, and capital markets.

Alex's background is in digital media and SEO, including building, operating, and growing independent publications and digital products. CloudFintech was launched in 2026 as an independent fintech title, and Alex sets its editorial direction, picks coverage angles, edits published copy, and is accountable for the standards the publication is held to.

He does not work for a bank, a fintech vendor, or any party covered on the site. CloudFintech's coverage is the work of an outside operator paying close attention to a fast-moving industry, rather than insider reporting from within it.

How CloudFintech is produced

CloudFintech is an AI-assisted publication. Articles are drafted with large language models (Anthropic's Claude family) working from a defined editorial brief: topic, target audience, sourcing standards, and the publication's house style. The editor sets the brief, selects topics, edits published copy, monitors quality, and is responsible for corrections and removal of any article that falls below standard.

What that means in practice:

  • The editor picks what gets covered: topics are chosen based on reader interest signals (search query data, industry developments) and editorial judgement about what is worth saying.
  • The AI drafts the copy to the editorial brief and house style. It is not treated as a source of fact.
  • The editor performs the final fact-check: before a new or materially revised article is published, Alex checks its factual claims, calculations and cited sources. Scheduled drafts also pass a separate blocking web-grounded verification gate.
  • The editor monitors published articles, edits where needed, and corrects or removes anything that fails fact-checking or falls below standard.
  • The editor takes editorial responsibility for every article published on the site, whether they wrote the first draft or not.

This model is increasingly common among independent publications. We are open about it because we believe readers should know how the journalism they consume is produced.
